Skill Check Overview

Skill Check allows admins to evaluate real-world performance inside a learning program. Instead of only testing what learners know through a quiz, Skill Check helps confirm whether learners can apply what they learned on the job.

Skill Checks are designed for hands-on evaluation, manager observation, and practical feedback. They help connect training to performance by giving managers a clear way to observe, assess, and coach learners in real time.

What Skill Check Is Used For

Use Skill Check when you want to evaluate how learners perform a task, follow a process, demonstrate a behavior, or apply a skill in a real-world scenario.

Common uses include:

  • Job readiness evaluations
  • Hands-on process checks
  • Manager observations
  • Role-based skill validation
  • Coaching and feedback
  • Practical assessments after training

Who Is Involved

Skill Check includes three key roles:

  • Admins or Authors create and configure the Skill Check
  • Learners complete the assessment in a real-world scenario
  • Managers evaluate performance and provide feedback

How Skill Check Works

Admins build the Skill Check by adding prompts, questions, and evaluation criteria. Learners complete the assigned activity, and managers review their performance based on the criteria provided.

This makes it easier to see who is ready, where support is needed, and how training is translating into real performance.

Why It Matters

Skill Check helps move training beyond completion. It gives teams a way to validate skills, provide timely feedback, and make sure learners are ready to perform with confidence.
